We had the opportunity to be a part of the Amazing wedding day of Jessica & Dan. The team of vendors we got to work did an absolutely amazing job of creating this day.
Typically I would tell you a little more about the story myself, but Ashley of Always Flawless did an amazing blog post complete with photos and the highlight. Please take a moment to got to her website and check it out: Always Flawless Productions - Real Wedding: Jessica & Dan

Before moving out to California and launching Light & Memory films, I was given the opportunity to travel to Haiti to create a short documentary piece. I had no idea going into it how much it would mean to me and change my outlook on life.
When my roommate at the time, Jake, asked me if I wanted to go to Haiti to make a short film I was already saying yes before he even finished. The goal of the film was to create a piece for a charity based in the U.S. called Haiti Allies, whose goal is to empower the people of Haiti to help themselves and each other. One of their main projects is helping a school in Cite Soleil in Port Au Prince. Our connection at Haiti Allies and guide to Haiti, Bryan, recruited us to create this film so that he could show people here the real struggles that this school and its students face, but to also show the positive difference it was making in the community. Please enjoy the film that Jake created from our time in Haiti. There are some tough things to watch in this so view at your own discretion, but there are many beautiful things in there as well. The people that we met on this trip and the stories we were told will be something that I carry with me for the rest of my life. I am thankful everyday for this opportunity and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you to Haiti Allies for this opportunity and the work that you do, Bryan Sirchio for being our guide and much more, Jake Groves for creating an amazing film and Allen Ackerson for helping out with everything! I hope that you will consider checking out Haiti Allies and the work that they do. www.haitiallies.org/
An amazing wedding isn't just created by one person. Whether you have a planner or are doing it on your own, the best way to have the perfect wedding is to surround yourself with a team of creative and talented people.
I am always amazed and impressed when I walk into a room and it is just jaw-droppingly beautiful. So many times, I see couples completely loose it when they enter their reception room for the first time. We had the pleasure of creating a film for a team of designers in Chicago that always produce incredible work. We wanted to showcase not only their designs but the creativity and hard work that goes into making dreams come true. So without further ado... Meet the Darlings!
For those of you that know me, know that I love bowties. It is a must have for my wedding outfits, whether it is a black one with white stripes or my personal favorite, blue with white polka-dots. So when I found out today was National Bowtie Day, I had to celebrate!
Over the years I have found that they are much easier and more convenient than a regular tie (once you know how to tie them). You never have to worry about length while tying, or if it will slop down in your food during dinner. Plus at the end of the night you get to untie it and look like James Bond. It is rare that I go to a wedding and not receive a compliment on my bowtie. Unfortunately many guys out there don't know how to tie them. Countless times, I've had to help the bridal party or even guests with their's on the wedding day. Finally I have created a tutorial on how to properly tie a bowtie. Hope this helps!
DISCLAIMER: I would suggest practicing this a few times before the wedding day to make sure you know how to do it really well.
Sometimes you just have a vision in your head that needs to be made. For a while now, I have had this film playing in my mind and finally had the opportunity to create it. I think it helped me to define the ideas and reasons that Light and Memory Films exists.
It's our mission to not just to capture your important memories, the ones that stick in your mind for the rest of your life, but to really encapsulate them with all of their real emotion in a beautiful way. The film ends with a question, "How will you choose to capture them?". Now days everyone can capture any moment with their phones, the internet is proof of that, but we know that these moments are truly more beautiful than what those low quality shaky cameras capture. We hope that you have a film that reflects how perfect the important memories are to you! The story we show is of a young boy basking in the love of his parents and growing in to the same type of love with his bride! Check out the film we created below as well as some of the stills and details from the shoot:

When you are marrying your best friend, there is no need for nerves. Alison and Justin never once showed any sign of nerves, but instead were smiling and laughing through the entire day. Their decor in the always beautiful Adler Planetarium was only out shown by the love they showed each other. Barely able to contain themselves, they did not wait till the end of the ceremony to kiss but just after the vows leaned in and kissed each other to wild applause!
A line in their vows sums them up perfectly; “I will forever laugh with you, and get a big stupid grin whenever you say something cute!”. These two were definitely best friends and I expect many “big, stupid grins” in their future. The film we created for them is merely a fracture of the fun wedding day, but we hope that it will be a treasure and remind them of the love they promised each other for the rest of their lives! "We cannot say thank you enough Jeremy!! This video is more perfect than we ever could have imagined. Thank you so much for all of your hard work, artistic talent, and for being so incredibly wonderful to work with on our wedding day!" -Alison
